One of the biggest shifts that I made when I met K.C. is being a lot more organized when it comes to traveling. With two people who routinely overpack (and have niche products that we have to travel with), we have to have a good system down. Instead of tossing every belonging into two oversized Vera Bradley duffles and using old Ipsy bags for my tiny items, I’ve found that I feel a lot more posh and grown up having a few sturdy and reliable pieces to accompany me on any journey. Check out my top 3 favorite items!
I love my SplayTray so much. So much so that I use it EVERY day for my makeup. This bag opens with a gentle tug, lays flat, and forms a tray for you to lay out your items so you’re not stuck digging around for what you’re looking for. When traveling, I use mine to store my makeup and even some jewelry-thanks to the handy pockets. And it makes the most perfect rectangle when it is closed so it fits so perfectly in your suitcase so nothing gets crushed. I have the small one in the color Hunter Green and it holds everything that I need. But They come in other sizes as well (on my wishlist!), so you’re sure to find the right one for you.
So if you want to see why I wanted this, go to season 3 of Friends, episode 25. Right after the opening, Rachel carries a green cosmetic travel bag for her trip with the gang to the beach. Ever since I saw that scene, I’ve wanted a bag like that. Mark and Graham really knocked it out of the park with this style because it is loaded with all sorts of pockets and has an easy to clean interior. I can fit my full size contact solution bottles and pump bottles (that I fear may just spring open) with no problem at all. I like to use mine just on car trips but feel free to use this as your carry on or personal bag. My green bag isn’t in stock but their available colors are still just as dreamy.
Not pictured but worth a mention! When K.C. and I were starting to think about how to pack for our wedding and honeymoon, we quickly realized that we needed a more reliable set of luggage. We tested one set for a bit and loved it so much that we bought a second. We have also gifted this set as well and it has made several trips from Georgia to Hawaii (and still looks brand new!). I love that they nest together, have a very strong exterior that can handle air travel, and have fancy spinning wheels so zooming through the airport is just a little easier. If you’re looking for a new set or wanting to gift the most HELPFUL and practical gift, give this set a go!
